WHAT WE ARE:
doodles4schools.com is new, education- and budget-friendly. Nothing comes
cheaper than FREE and you will find that most of the resources on this site cost
exactly that. If a charge HAS to be introduced at a later date it will be the minimum
possible and in no way retro-active. There are no tricks, traps or pratfalls, just
resources, and, unless they are to order or otherwise marked, the resources on this
site are free to anyone engaged in education, wherever and whoever you are.
Because the resources supplied are original to this site and to me, the copyright
owner, I am free to waive copyright where I believe it is appropriate and I am offering
what is here free of copyright to anyone engaged in education. Whether you teach
children or adults, and whether you are a teacher or a student, irrespective of age
and location, you are free to use any resource on this site for the purposes of
teaching or learning within your own institution. You are not free to re-package,
modify and/or redistribute material from this site for profit. Please do not copy the
resources for 'someone else you happen to know' unless you know for certain that
they are without web access. The site needs visitors in order to work, and since much
of this is a gift to you as a teacher or pupil I would ask you to respect it as such. If you
like what you see please, please, please direct others to it.
doodles4schools.com recognizes that it can be a struggle to find the resources
you need exactly when you need them and without having to worry about either cost
or copyright infringement.
doodles4schools.com can't eliminate the struggle altogether, but it is going to do
the best it can.
What's the catch? What's in it for me? How is this all to be funded?
No catch, and - for me - satisfaction mainly. Funding is an issue since the site costs
time, effort and money to operate, and I hope to resolve it by three different methods:
1. Voluntary donation/subscription. Note the word 'voluntary' please; this is not
conditional. If you like what you see and can use it, I would ask you to consider the
budget implications for you or your institution. If the implications are positive, I would
ask you simply to send a donation or voluntary subscription, no matter how small.
PLEASE EMAIL ME VIA THE "CONTACT US" BUTTON FOR DETAILS.
2. I hope in time to catalogue some larger resources, particularly presentations which
will be on too large a scale to make web-downloading a sensible option. These will be
produced and offered by mail order at the lowest operable price.
3. Hits, hits, hits. The site will carry information on teaching practices and processes,
including equipment and materials, software and hardware used. It will also carry
reviews. Whilst no amount of financial inducement will make me say something is good
when it is not, I will be hoping for advertising and/or sponsorship.
I have not come into this in order to become rich (though I have no particular objection
:-), but I do want to be able to see it through.

THE RESOURCES:
doodles4schools.com expects to offer:
Resources and information principally for teachers and children at UK Primary (Key Stages 1 and 2 - approx ages 5 to 11 years) Level and/or its equivalent outside the UK.
Free from site: (just copy, save and use within your own school or institution). Be virus aware. I will not be assigning any bugs to any material on this site, but there are some nasty people out there and I cannot be held responsible for anything they may add. Use of any resources from this site implies acceptance of my non-liability for any virus, software, hardware or other issues.
Scale: Images, documents and templates will be offered, as far as possible, in a size enabling reasonable reproduction at approximately A4 European size (210 mm by 297 mm), making them viable for wall display in a classroom. Since you are at liberty to print any number from an original for your own use these can also be produced as sets for distribution to individuals or pupil groups. You are also free to use the images for digital projection, or to record them onto CD or DVD and display them via TV and PC screens. If space precludes the inclusion of sufficient files of an appropriate scale, I will seek to make larger files available on disk or via email on request at a minimum viable cost.
Cross-Curriculum-relevant:
Illustrations: (e.g. historical costume, natural history wildlife illustrations) Photographs: (e.g. architecture, man-made and natural objects) Worksheets: (e.g. initially colouring and object identification historical)
Model templates: [Designed to be printed on card for simple cut-out and glue assembly(e.g period architecture, Viking ship model, bridge model)
Other: I will be looking to the possibility of producing literacy, history, art and other resources as presentations on CD Rom, including demonstrations of technique (drawing, painting, handicraft techniques.)
PLEASE: If, after looking at what is here, you have not found a resource you are searching for, let me know about it and I will see if I can create something to meet your needs.
